    Quickfire double sinks Canaries

League One champions Norwich ended a memorable season in defeat as Carlisle claimed a surprise 2-0 victory at Carrow Road. The Cumbrians struck twice inside the opening seven minutes through Gary Madine and Jason Price and finish a topsy-turvy campaign in 14th place. In-form striker Madine latched on to a throughball from Price and guided his shot past keeper Fraser Forster with just 55 seconds on the clock. It got even worse for the Canaries six minutes later when the Cumbrians made it 2-0 as Ian Harte's deep curling free-kick found the back of the net, with Price claiming the final touch. Paul Lambert's side, who had won 16 out of their previous 18 home matches, had chances to level before the break with Korey Smith wasting the best of them. The young midfielder took the ball round keeper Adam Collin but his shot lacked sufficient pace and was cleared off the line by Harte. Norwich started the second half well, with Collin saving from Darel Russell, but Carlisle had plenty of the play themselves in the second half and were well worth their win. The Canaries, who went down to just their third home defeat of the season, ended the title-winning season nine points ahead of second-placed Leeds.
