Norwich v Wycombe preview

Image: Lambert: First Norwich game

Paul Lambert has a virtually fully-fit squad for his first game as Norwich boss against Wycombe.

Lambert spoilt for choice for Canaries bow

Paul Lambert has the luxury of a virtually fully-fit squad to choose from as Norwich host Wycombe in his first game as Canaries boss. Lambert was in the stands for Tuesday's 2-1 defeat at Brentford and will name the side to face Wycombe, who Lambert took to a League Cup semi-final and the League Two play-offs during his two-year tenure at Adams Park. Lambert also masterminded Colchester's 7-1 drubbing of Norwich, which accounted for previous boss Bryan Gunn, and the Scottish manager is hoping to steer the Canaries to their first league win of the season. Goalkeeper Michael Theoklitos and defender Michael Nelson haven't featured since that opening-day humiliation and are hoping for a fresh start under the new boss. Midfielder Owain Tudur Jones will hope to keep his place after capping his return to the starting line-up with a late consolation at Brentford. Defender Rhoys Wiggins (knee) remains sidelined, though, while youngsters Kris Renton (foot) and Damon Lathrope (broken arm) are the only other absentees.

Loan signing

Wycombe boss Peter Taylor has no fresh injury concerns but may make changes having been unhappy with side's display in the 1-1 draw at home to Southend in midweek. Taylor has already responded by bringing in Ashley Chambers on loan from Leicester until January and the 19-year-old striker goes straight into the squad for Saturday's game. Midfielder Matt Bloomfield suffered a broken nose and fractured cheek in the Carling Cup clash with Peterborough and will be out for at least another month while Lewis Hunt (foot) and TJ Moncur (groin) are also sidelined. Taylor is confident that Tommy Doherty (ankle) will be back sooner than expected but the former Bristol City midfielder is not in contention for the trip to Carrow Road. Although Lewwis Spence (foot) is back in light training, he will not travel as the Chairboys go in search of their first win of the campaign.
