Notts County will aim to put off-field speculation on the backburner when they host Accrington Stanley in League Two on Saturday.
Reports suggest that County's director of football, Sven Goran Eriksson, is in talks to buy the club, but manager Hans Backe's focus will be on welcoming John Thompson back into his squad.
Thompson was suspended for the Magpies' 2-0 victory over Hereford last weekend after picking up five yellow cards.
Midfielder Neal Bishop played the full 90 minutes against the Bulls following his recovery from an ankle injury so should retain his place in the side, but fellow midfielder Johnnie Jackson (knee) remains out.
Duo Lee Hughes and Luke Rodgers look set to continue in attack after scoring 19 goals between them so far.
Backe's side will be seeking their fourth consecutive win against John Coleman's men but could find the going tough against an away side that remain unbeaten in their past five games in all competitions.
Accrington team news
Accrington will be able to select midfielder John Miles and defender Johnny Flynn for the trip to the County Ground.
Former Liverpool trainee Miles has been suspended for the past three games following his red card against Barnet on 28th November but should start in place of Luke Joyce.
On-loan centre-back Flynn was cup-tied for the Reds' midweek FA Cup replay at Underhill but should return at the expense of teenager Peter Murphy.
Fellow loanee Dean Bouzanis is likely to start ahead of regular No.1 Ian Dunbavin, who is still yet to gain full fitness following a knee injury.
However, the game will come a week too soon for Chris Turner, although the winger has returned to light training following ankle ligament damage.
Defender Leam Richardson (groin) remains sidelined until the New Year.
