Peter Vincenti scored the winner as Rochdale won 2-1 at Meadow Lane to inflict Notts County's 11th home defeat of the season.
Vincenti struck nine minutes after half time after Garry Thompson and Ian Henderson traded goals in the first period. Keith Hill's side had started well and went close through Henderson's smart flick. But it was the Magpies who took the lead when Elliott Whitehouse's cross was deflected to the back post for Thompson to head in his 10th goal of the season. But Dale hit back immediately and it was a gift as a back header from Mike Edwards fell short allowing Henderson to nip in and score from an acute angle. Notts started the second half well and Thompson came close to his second of the game with a fierce drive which was kept out by visiting goalkeeper Jamie Jones. Dale moved in front when a strike from Henderson clattered the foot of the post with the rebound falling straight to Vincenti. With Roy Carroll having dived for Henderson's original effort and out of position, the winger simply slipped the ball into an empty net to seal a precious three points for the visitors.Trending
