Highlights of the Sky Bet League Two match between Oldham and Grimsby.

Oldham began life after Paul Scholes with a hard-fought 2-0 victory at home to mid-table rivals Grimsby.

In their first game since Scholes quit as manager after a 31-day reign, the Latics ended a six-match winless run thanks to goals from Chris O'Grady and Callum Lang.

Grimsby almost led after 17 minutes as Wes Thomas' header was superbly tipped over the bar by Oldham goalkeeper Daniel Iversen.

But the hosts went close when Alex Iacovitti tested the reflexes of James McKeown, who also made a smart save from Johan Branger's low drive.

Oldham, with Pete Wild back in charge until the end of the season, struck after 42 minutes as O'Grady met Lang's cross with a fierce volley which took a deflection and beat McKeown from 10 yards.

George Edmundson could have doubled the lead, while Grimsby were nearly level twice in a matter of seconds when Harry Clifton hit the crossbar before Ludvig Ohman was denied by Iversen.
