      Stockport fell to only their third away defeat of the season as Oldham dominated an intense north-west derby to win 3-1. Striker Lee Hughes and winger Chris Taylor impressed the watching scouts from the Championship with well-taken goals but veteran Dean Windass was the star of Oldham's show with a masterful performance. Windass, on loan from Hull, orchestrated his team from the front and set up Danny Whitaker to make the breakthrough after just three minutes. Whitaker curled in from 20 yards and Oldham wasted several more chances before Hughes, who is a confirmed target for Doncaster, collected a Windass flick and grabbed his 15th goal of the campaign. Stockport goalkeeper Owain Fon Williams kept his side in the game and they earned a surprise lifeline after 40 minutes when Oli Johnson headed home from close range. Taylor killed off the visitors when he ran on to a superb touch from Windass and dashed 30 yards before slotting into the bottom corner.
