Plymouth and Barnsley have both been rocked by suspensions ahead of Saturday's Championship encounter.

Pilgrims hit with Mackie blow while Da Silva suspended for Tykes

Plymouth and Barnsley have both been rocked by suspensions ahead of Saturday's Championship encounter. Plymouth's leading scorer Jamie Mackie is suspended for the home match against the Tykes. Mackie misses out after he was booked for the fifth time this season in last Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Leicester which ended the Pilgrims' three-match unbeaten streak. New Zealand hero Rory Fallon comes back into starting contention after scoring his country's play-off winner against Bahrain to secure the Kiwis' place at the World Cup in South Africa in 2010. Fallon was used as a late substitute at Leicester. Ashley Barnes, Joe Mason and on-loan Celtic striker Cillian Sheridan all come back into contention. On-loan Cardiff full-back Darcy Blake is set to deputise for injured right-back David Gray (hip/groin) if Karl Duguid (calf) fails a fitness test while midfielder Jim Patterson (hamstring) is an injury doubt.

Tykes news

Barnsley midfielder Anderson Da Silva will miss the Championship clash at Home Park through suspension. The Brazilian was booked for the fifth time this season in last weekend's win over Cardiff and must now serve a one-game ban. Iceland international Emil Hallfredsson is expected to replace him. Tykes manager Mark Robins has no other injury or suspensions worries, with central defender Darren Moore, sidelined against Cardiff, expected to overcome an on-going toe problem. Striker Iain Hume (hamstring) and midfielder Hugo Colace (shin wound) both returned to training after missing out earlier in the week and are likely to be included. Barnsley have climbed up to 15th place in the table in recent weeks on the back of five wins from their last eight league matches.
