Port Vale will assess Leon Legge for the visit of Colchester.
The defender missed the midweek Checkatrade Trophy win over Shrewsbury with a knock, but could return to the fray. Defender Connell Rawlinson returned to replace Legge after missing the last four games with a thigh injury.
Striker Dior Angus featured off the bench against the Shrews following a loan spell away from the club in the first half of the season and will be hoping to again be involved.
