Valiants welcome Hatters for Vale Park

Port Vale will be hoping to make it back-to-back victories this weekend when they entertain Luton Town. The Valiants secured a 2-0 win over Macclesfield Town in midweek and can push further away from the drop zone with success over The Hatters. Dean Glover will hope to have key centre-back Gareth Owen available after he pulled out of the warm-up prior to Wednesday's victory due to a painful abscess on his back. Luke Prosser was recalled at the Moss Rose and he would be the likely candidate to again step in should Owen not make it. Striker Steve Thompson does look likely to miss the encounter with a hamstring injury picked up in training but Marc Richards and new loan signing Kevin Gall are expected to continue in attack. Midfielder Dave Brammer remains sidelined with his knee problem.

Luton team news

Luton boss Mick Harford is set to name an unchanged line-up for the trip to Port Vale. On-loan Derby goalkeeper Lewis Price is still sidelined with a groin injury which could keep him out for the remainder of his stay at Kenilworth Road so Dean Brill will again start. Defender Ian Roper (knee) remains doubtful after missing the last two games but Michael Spillane was an unused substitute in the midweek draw at Accrington Stanley after recovering from a dead leg picked up in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy win over Brighton. Centre-half George Pilkington is still a week away from returning to action as he recovers from his metatarsal injury. Keith Keane and Rossi Jarvis go to Vale Park on four bookings and will face a suspension should they see yellow.
