Defender Adam Webster will have to sit out Portsmouth's Sky Bet League Two clash with Luton at Fratton Park on Monday.

Webster is set to serve a suspension after he was dismissed midway through the first half of Pompey's 3-2 defeat at Leyton Orient on Boxing Day.

On the positive side, midfielder Gary Roberts appeared as a late substitute after two months out with an ankle injury.

Defenders Christian Burgess (ankle) and Jack Whatmough (knee), striker Matt Tubbs (ankle), and goalkeeper Paul Jones (knee) are unlikely to be back in contention.

Former Pompey caretaker boss and player Andy Awford remains in temporary charge of the Hatters for the trip to the south coast.

Awford took up the reins following the recent departure of John Still but saw the team beaten by Wycombe on Saturday after victory over Exeter in the previous game.

Awford told the club's website: "When you've been associated with a club for as long as I have it isn't just another game, but I've got an opportunity now to take care of Luton on a temporary basis.

"I am going to go down there and give my all and be professional."

Defender Luke Wilkinson and midfielder Nathan Doyle are among the players hoping to return after recent knocks.
