James Collins netted a late clincher to give Northampton the perfect finale for a league winning season as they beat 10-man Portsmouth 2-1 at Fratton Park.
The Sky Bet League 2 champions took the lead in the 14th minute when defender Jack Whatmough diverted Nicky Adams' centre into his own goal.
Pompey had pegged them back when Kal Naismith scored with a left-footed stunner, a thunderous swirled effort from 35 yards.
