Dons look to end Doonhamers' cup dreams

Aberdeen are hoping to avoid a shock when they meet Queen of the South in their Scottish Cup semi-final, live on Sky Sports 1 on Saturday. The Dons booked their place in the last four with a shock 1-0 replay win over holders Celtic, while First Division outfit Queen of the South have yet to concede a goal in the tournament so far. The SPL side have been boosted by the news that their injury list is clearing up for the trip to Hampden Park. Steve Lovell and Derek Young are both fit again after recovering from knee problems. Jackie McNamara has shaken off a knock he picked up in Monday's SPL win over Falkirk. Jamie Smith, Richie Byrne and Lee Mair are all still missing for Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood. Queen of the South manager Gordon Chisholm will be able to take his place on the bench despite being handed a two-match touchline ban. Sean O'Connor and Andy Aitken are both expected to shake off minor knocks to take their place in the squad. Midfielder Neil Scally misses out due to a knee ligament injury and former Celtic defender Craig Reid and on-loan Kilmarnock forward Robert Campbell are both cup-tied. Top scorer Stephen Dobbie will lead the attack for Queen of the South alongside John Stewart.
