Rochdale piled the pressure on under-fire Hereford boss John Trewick with a comprehensive 4-1 win at Spotland.
Chris Dagnall opened the scoring for the hosts in the 19th minute before the Bulls equalised through Marc Pugh's close-range strike.
But Hereford fell behind again just before the break as on-loan Norwich winger Simon Whaley finished off a clinical counter attack.
Hereford were still in the contest at the start of the second half before Dale turned up the heat, Will Buckley's effort hitting a post.
He made amends with a striker's finish to make it 3-1 before defender Craig Dawson handed Dale the points.
To round off a miserable day for the Bulls, Ryan Green was given his marching orders in stoppage time after a second bookable offence.
