Rochdale could remain unchanged for Peterborough's visit to the Crown Oil Arena in Sky Bet League One.
Dale boss Keith Hill was delighted with the opening-day 2-1 win at Burton, in which Bradden Inman scored twice. Australian forward Inman joined Rochdale from Posh this summer after a frustrating injury-hit spell at the ABAX Stadium.
The 38-year-old veteran Aaron Wilbraham is expected to partner Inman in attack once again, with Calvin Andrew on the bench.
Ivan Toney is expected to go straight into the Peterborough starting line-up after signing a three-year deal. The 22-year-old striker left Newcastle this week but knows League One well from loan spells at Barnsley, Shrewsbury, Scunthorpe and Wigan.
Alex Woodyard, Callum Cooke, Louis Reed and Mark O'Hara will contest midfield places, with Adam King having returned to parent club Swansea after picking up a knee injury. Winger Marcus Maddison is unlikely to be involved ahead of a possible loan move next week.
Rochdale won both home and away games against Peterborough in League One last season, beating them 1-0 at the ABAX Stadium and 2-0 at home.
Peterborough have only won twice in their last seven league visits to the Crown Oil Arena (D1 L4), failing to net a single goal in two of their last three trips.
Rochdale are looking to secure three consecutive league wins for the first time since a run of five in January 2017.
Away from home Peterborough have won just one of their last 11 league games (D4 L6), losing the last four in a row. They last had a longer losing run on the road in February 2010 (seven games).
Brad Inman netted twice in Rochdale's opening day victory at Burton - as many goals as he'd scored in his previous 28 for them in all competitions.
