A Chris Dagnall double handed Rochdale a 2-1 victory over Torquay at Spotland.
Dagnall opened the scoring in the 25th minute, the striker showing predatory instincts when Will Buckley's shot was parried by Poke.
Dagnall could have doubled his tally while Joe Thompson went close on the stroke of half time for dominant Rochdale.
Torquay offered little as an attacking force in the first half but were unfortunate to see Elliott Benyon's effort ruled offside, after Scott Rendell's initial shot deflected off Rochdale defender Nathan Stanton into his path.
Dagnall put the result beyond doubt in the 74th minute when Chris Todd slipped as he prepared to clear Tom Kennedy's pass forward. with the Rochdale on to it in a flash to slip it past Poke for his second.
Chris Hargreaves pulled one back for the visitors when he diverted Marvin Williams' shot past Kenny Arthur in the last minute.
