Clubs look to consolidate their positions in the play-off places

League Two promotion hopefuls Rotherham and Shrewsbury clash at the Don Valley Stadium, subject to weather conditions. A second cold snap this winter has threatened the game in South Yorkshire, with the club requesting volunteers to shovel the snow off the pitch. If the game does go ahead, Shrewsbury boss Paul Simpson may tinker with his starting line-up. The Shrews were beaten 1-0 at Bury on Friday night and with several players carrying 'bumps and bruises', Simpson may make a few changes to freshen things up. One potential change could see new signing Jamie Cureton handed his first start after he came on as a second-half substitute at Gigg Lane following a loan move from Norwich in the week. Terry Dunfield was the man who made way for the striker and he is a candidate to drop out of the side if Cureton does start. Dean Holden and Jake Simpson were also named on the bench on Friday after recent injuries and they could both come into contention for a start.

Millers news

Rotherham will be forced to make at least one change. Midfielder Gary Roberts was dismissed for a second yellow card in Friday's 1-1 draw with Torquay and he will now serve a one-game ban. Roberts suffered a shoulder injury that required an X-ray after the game, so it is unlikely that he would have been available to boss Ronnie Moore. Michael Cummins or Pablo Mills are the two likeliest candidates to replace Roberts in midfield. On-loan defender Gavin Gunning went off in the first half against the Gulls after suffering a head injury that required stitches, but Moore remains hopeful of him being available. Marc Joseph is on standby to start at left-back if Gunning does not make it. Dale Tonge looks set to miss out as he continues to battle with a foot injury, while Andy Liddell and Paul Warne are long-term absentees.
