Iron looking to return to winning ways against Os

Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins is waiting on the fitness of several players for the visit of Leyton Orient. Midfielder Matt Sparrow picked up a dead leg in Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy Northern Area Final first-leg victory over Rotherham, while defender Marcus Williams (ankle) and striker Paul Hayes (groin) were injured in the same match. Midfield duo Grant McCann (calf) and Sam Togwell (thigh) both missed training on Thursday and Adkins will give late fitness tests to all five players. Ian Morris has returned to full training but may again have to settle for a place on the bench after his substitute appearance against Rotherham, but striker Ben May (ankle) is not expected to return until the end of March. Michael Lea (broken toe) is back in light training but is still a few weeks away from a return, while fellow defender Kenny Milne (knee) is still not fit enough to feature.

Thornton out

O's boss Kevin Nugent will be without Sean Thornton for the trip to north Lincolnshire. Thornton picked up a thigh injury in last weekend's defeat against Bristol Rovers and is unavailable. Experienced defender Danny Granville is back in contention after being sidelined since Boxing Day with a thigh injury, while youngster Harry Baker could again make the squad after impressing in his full league debut in Tuesday's 1-1 draw with Southend. Midfielder Adam Chambers is available but will miss Tuesday's clash with MK Dons to serve a one-match ban after accumulating his fifth yellow card of the season against Southend. But striker Wayne Gray remains sidelined with a cruciate knee ligament injury and looks unlikely to return until March.
