Leaders look to get back on form on home soil

Scunthorpe host Swindon looking to prove Tuesday night's hammering at Oldham was only a blip in their bid for League One promotion. Iron boss Nigel Adkins is sweating on the fitness of striker Gary Hooper and defender Krystian Pearce. Leading scorer Hooper sustained a foot injury in the 3-0 drubbing at Boundary Park and is rated as touch-and-go for Saturday's game, with Pearce's participation also in doubt after he picked up an ankle knock during midweek. Adkins is unlikely to make too many changes from the side that slumped to defeat at Boundary Park although striker Jonathan Forte impressed after coming off the bench in midweek and may start, especially if Hooper fails to recover. Defender Kenny Milne's rehabilitation from a knee injury is progressing well but he will not be available until at Christmas at the earliest. League leaders the Iron will be looking to bounce back from Tuesday's defeat, which was their first in 12 league outings.

Swindon news

Swindon goalkeeper Peter Brezovan is a major doubt for the trip to league leaders Scunthorpe. Brezovan is struggling with an ankle problem and looks set to miss out against the Iron as Swindon look to capitalise on their extended break after Tuesday's clash against Walsall was called off due to snow. Forward Barry Corr (back) trained on Thursday but will be assessed fully before making the trip to Glanford Park, with Blair Sturrock - back from a loan spell at Bournemouth - set to step in if necessary. Striker Billy Paynter has recovered from a tight hamstring and will travel while midfielder Mark Marshall will miss out but could make a return in the FA Cup clash against Histon next weekend. Defender Jamie Vincent has started running again following knee surgery, but he remains several weeks away from a first-team return.
