Sheff Utd v Tranmere preview

Image: Wilson: More options at the back

Team news for Saturday's League One clash between Sheffield United and Tranmere at Bramall Lane.

Sheffield United defenders Neill Collins and Andy Taylor could be back in contention. Collins has missed the last four games due to personal reasons but was back in full training this week, while Taylor, rested after recently returning to action following a 14-month knee injury lay-off, provides manager Danny Wilson with another defensive option. Lecsinel Jean-Francois is unavailable after sustaining a season-ending knee injury earlier this month, while midfielder Kevin McDonald is still struggling with a hamstring problem. Wilson, who has no new injury or suspension problems, must decide whether to retain Chris Porter up front alongside leading goalscorer Ched Evans, or recall one of either Richard Cresswell or James Beattie, who both started the midweek draw at Colchester on the substitutes' bench. The Blades are two points ahead of third-placed Sheffield Wednesday and five better off than Huddersfield in the race for automatic promotion. Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore has no new injury worries. Moore has enjoyed a fairytale start to his third spell in charge at Prenton Park by taking seven points from a possible nine in three consecutive home games to steer Rovers away from trouble at the wrong end of League One. Enoch Showunmi and Andy Robinson were both on target in the back-to-back wins over Leyton Orient and Preston and are expected to continue their successful returns from respective leg and knee problems at Bramall Lane. Moore could well name an unchanged side against Danny Wilson's men, although midfielder Robbie Weir and full-back Zoumana Bakayogo pushed their claims in the 3-0 reserve victory over Macclesfield on Wednesday. Adam McGurk (broken cheekbone), Mark McChrystal (hernia) and Martin Devaney (hamstring) remain on the sidelines.
