Stockport hung on for a goalless draw with Leicester after the visitors missed a clutch of second-half chances at Edgeley Park.
Lloyd Dyer missed a sitter seven minutes from time, while Paul Dickov and Michael Morrison also went close late on.
Neither side had produced any clear-cut chances, until Stockport's Michael Raynes flicked the ball onto Peter Thompson, only for his shot to rebound off the base of the post.
Earlier Stockport's Carl Baker saw a deflected shot saved by Paul Henderson, while at the other end Steve Howard directed a diving header well wide.
Leicester's Kerrea Gilbert also went close when his cross-cum-shot flew inches past the far post.
There were still few chances early in the second period, but Stockport 'keeper Owain fon Williams did brilliantly on 55 minutes to deny Matty Fryatt from point-blank range before beating away Andy King's shot.
