Stoke winger James McClean is hoping to return to action in the home game against Bolton.
McClean broke his left arm while on international duty for the Republic of Ireland earlier this month and has missed the last two matches.
Forward Mame Diouf is unlikely to make his return from a hamstring problem, but could be ready to feature at Norwich next weekend. Midfielder Sam Clucas has yet to make his debut for the Potters following knee surgery, but is expected to be available after this month's international break.
Bolton defender Marc Wilson will return to contention following suspension. Wilson missed Saturday's home win against Derby due to a one-game ban and boss Phil Parkinson must decide whether to recall him or retain David Wheater in central defence.
Parkinson has no new injury or suspension worries but is still without winger Sammy Ameobi (ankle) and full-back Andrew Taylor (calf). Midfielders Gary O'Neil and Josh Vela, plus forward Christian Doidge are among those pushing for recalls.
This is the first league meeting between Stoke and Bolton since the final day of the 2011-12 season in the Premier League.
Bolton's last defeat against Stoke was in the FA Cup semi-final in the 2010-11 season, when Stoke hammered the Trotters 5-0.
Stoke's Championship games have seen 32 goals scored this season (F14 A18) - only West Bromwich Albion's matches have seen more (39).
Bolton have failed to score in eight of their 15 Championship away games since the start of 2018.
Stoke's Tom Ince has scored in his last two Championship games - he last scored in three in a row in December 2016 at Derby.
David Prutton predicts: 1-1 (6/1)
