James Berrett's first-half wonder goal gave Carlisle a 1-0 victory and sent Swindon deeper into relegation trouble.

Swindon, play-off finalists last season, have now gone 10 games without a win, while Carlisle have won three of their last five on the road. On-loan Spurs striker Jonathan Obika looked lively for the Robins and almost scored midway through the first half, but, after getting on the end of Jon-Paul McGovern's throughball, he fired wide. The deadlock was broken just short before the half-hour mark with a moment of brilliance, though. The superb Lubomir Michalik won a challenge on the halfway line and the ball broke kindly to Berrett, who turned quickly and unleashed an unstoppable 30-yard shot into the top-left corner. Carlisle's 19-year-old on-loan winger, Ben Marshall, was outstanding the whole game and caused the Robins numerous problems. Swindon changed to a 4-3-3 in the second half, with Obika and David Prutton looking threatening, but, despite their dominance in possession, they failed to break down the sturdy Cumbrians defence.
