Chris Shuker is hoping to keep his place in the Tranmere Rovers team against Cheltenham Town, who have decisions to make regarding their loan players.
Rovers boss Ronnie Moore was set to recall Edrissa Sonko for the match against Leyton Orient last weekend but the Gambia international returned late from international duty.
Moore revealed that Sonko had been "unprofessional" and the matter would be dealt with "in-house" while diminutive wideman Shuker took his chance and scored the only goal in a 1-0 win to give Rovers maximum points.
Striker Craig Curran is struggling to be fit from a recent groin injury so Moore will choose two out of Bas Savage, Chris Greenacre and Ian Moore to lead the attack.
Cheltenham manager Martin Allen's biggest dilemma for the game at Prenton Park will be which of his eight loanees to include in his matchday 16.
Only five loan players are allowed to be included, meaning new arrival Jonny Hayes will be competing alongside Scott Murray, Drissa Diallo, Lewis Montrose, Josh Payne, Stuart Fleetwood, James Wesolowski and Lathanial Rowe-Turner to feature.
Midfielder Alex Russell missed Saturday's 2-1 defeat to league leaders Scunthorpe with an ankle injury but is expected to be back in the fold against Rovers.
Striker Ashley Vincent (calf) should again be okay having passed a late fitness test before the clash against the Iron.
Shane Higgs made it onto the bench after calf problems and should act as back-up to fellow goalkeeper Scott Brown once more.
However, defender Shane Duff (Achilles), striker Damian Spencer (knee), midfielders John Finnigan (heel) and David Bird (fractured toe) all remain sidelined.
