Tranmere v Hartlepool preview

Team news ahead of Saturday's League One clash between Tranmere and Hartlepool at Prenton Park.

Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore is ready to give a pair of fringe players opportunities. A settled line-up has helped Rovers ease towards League One safety since Moore replaced Les Parry at the helm last month for a third spell in charge of the club. However, with an eye on potential contract renewals for next season, the Prenton Park boss is eager to shuffle his pack. "I need to look at players in various positions so there will be at least two changes," he told Tranmere Player. "But that doesn't mean we're on the beach and the season is over. I want to finish well and it's up to the lads who want to stay here to get out there and prove it." Adam McGurk and Mustafa Tiryaki could come into contention in attack, while wideman Zoumana Bakayogo will be hoping for a recall after missing out on the matchday XI for last weekend's 1-0 win over Walsall. Hartlepool defender Sam Collins is hoping to prove his fitness in time. The centre-half has been struggling with a calf injury and could face a late fitness test. Teenager Jack Baldwin could return to the starting line-up if Collins fails to make it. Striker James Poole has recovered from the thigh and hamstring injuries that have kept him sidelined for the last month, but will not be risked against Rovers. Fellow forward James Brown is still out with a groin injury and both Colin Nish and Colin Larkin (both knee) are unavailable, so teenagers Luke James and Ryan Noble, the latter on loan from Sunderland, are expected to resume their partnership up front. Pools boss Neale Cooper has no other injury or suspension worries as his side, in 13th place, bid to climb into the top half of the table.
