John Johnson is set to make his Tranmere Rovers debut against a Leeds United side missing three key players.
Ryan Shotton has returned to Stoke City after his loan spell at Prenton Park, so Johnson, on loan from Middlesbrough, will come in at right-back.
Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore, however, will be without defender Danny Holmes and striker Chris Greenacre for the game.
The pair are sidelined through leg and back injuries respectively but Craig Curran has returned to training and is in the squad.
On-loan Doncaster midfielder Mark Wilson is available again after missing last week's FA Cup tie at Peterborough.
Leeds boss Gary McAllister will be without Jermaine Beckford, Fabian Delph and Andy Robinson for the game.
Leading goalscorer Beckford remains sidelined as he recovers from a torn hamstring sustained last week at Northampton and teenage midfielder Delph serves a one-game ban.
Winger Robinson was this week ruled out for at least a month after pulling his hamstring in last Sunday's FA Cup defeat at Histon.
McAllister is also without striker Malcolm Christie, whose bid to earn a full-time deal at Leeds following a successful trial has been hit by a rib injury.
Robert Snodgrass is expected to partner Luciano Becchio up front in Beckford's absence, but McAllister could also call on Enoch Showunmi.
Jonny Howson, David Prutton and Neil Kilkenny are all vying to start in place of Delph.
