The world’s leading riders are in Switzerland this week for the latest round of the Rolex Grand Slam of Show Jumping.
Geneva's the Palexpo, the world's largest indoor arena, will host the action from December 7-10 with eyes on German rider Philipp Weishaupt, who won the last Grand Slam event at Spruce Meadows in September.
Weishaupt, who will be competing in Geneva as the current Grand Slam contender (victory in three of the four Grand Prix will qualify the rider for a 1 million euros bonus), will aim to make it back-to-back major wins on board L.B. Convall but will face a stern challenge with the nine of the world's top 10 competing, live on Sky Sports Action.
World No 1 Kent Farrington is one of the favourites and former Olympic champion Swiss rider Steve Guerdat has won in Geneva three times already and will have the local crowd behind him.
Meanwhile, Scott Brash, the only rider to have won the Grand Slam and who has a strong record on the Swiss track will be among the favourites, including Ben Maher and Michael Whitaker.
Aachen winner Gregory Wathelet could also be in line for a €250,000 bonus if he wins his second Grand Prix title in the same cycle.
