World Rally champion Sebastien Ogier secured a fourth successive Wales Rally GB title by 10.2 seconds on Sunday.

Ogier had been crowned champion in Spain earlier this month and his victory in Wales also confirmed the manufacturers' title for his Volkswagen team.

But the victory was only a narrow one after a sensational run of quick times from eventual runner-up Ott Tanak, who won a series of stages on Sunday, including the closing TV Power Stage - Brenig 2.

The Ford driver took two-thirds of Ogier's Saturday advantage but was not quite able to catch the Frenchman and secure his first World Rally victory, instead settling for a second podium finish of the season.

"I was watching my back the whole rally," Ogier said. "He (Tanak) flew the whole weekend. Didn't make a mistake. I had to be perfect to win this.

"What I did here I did for Volkswagen, without them I wouldn't have won all this."

Third place went to Belgium's Thierry Neuville ahead of New Zealander Hayden Paddon and the leading British driver, Kris Meeke, who finished in fifth, just over two-and-a-half minutes behind Ogier.

Ogier's lead over Neuville in the drivers' championship is up to 104 points with only next month's Kennards Hire Rally Australia remaining on the 2016 calendar.
