Ben Simmons stepped up in the absence of Joel Embiid to score 31 points to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a 131-115 Game 3 over the Brooklyn Nets.
Simmons' points haul was the best of his postseason career and he underscored it with nine assists, four rebounds, three blocks and a pair of steals as the Sixers rolled to a 2-1 series lead.
His performance came after Sixers franchise star Joel Embiid was ruled out before the game due to left knee soreness.
Simmons' wayward shooting in Games 1 and 2 was the subject of a 'Missing' poster outside the Nets' Barclays Center during pregame.
But the Australian point guard gave the perfect response on the court as he made 11 of his 13 shot attempts and drained nine of his 11 free throws.
The Nets drew within six points at 105-99 with 8:37 left in the fourth quarter but Tobias Harris canned his sixth straight three-pointer to help Philadelphia pull away. Simmons then threw down a vicious dunk with 4:21 remaining to ice the game.
