Richard Fahey: Let it rain!

Star columnist Richard Fahey talks us through his runners across the country on Saturday.

The forecast rain is very much in Imshivalla's favour for the Betfred Supports Jack Berry House Stakes. She loves soft ground and is in good order. She's capable of winning a good handicap like this, as we saw at Epsom earlier in the season, and is going well at home.

Gabrial is a wonderful old horse and rain would help him in the Betfred Mobile Strensall Stakes. He's been running very well this season, probably the most consistent he's been at any stage of his career. Whether he's good enough to win this I wouldn't know but he seems very well.

I was a little surprised Theos Lolly got into the Betfred Melrose Stakes but the step up in trip should suit him. He's a good, hardy, horse who is enjoying a fine season. I'd be shocked if he was up to winning a Melrose if I'm honest but he is running well.

I'd be delighted if Megan Lily finished in the first three in the Julia Graves Roses Stakes as she looks up against it on paper at least.

Our final runner at the Ebor Meeting is Celebration in the Betfred Apprentice Stakes. He is a horse I really like, a good, hardy, pro who is going to give his owners a lot of fun. His day will come somewhere and he ran really well at Goodwood last time.

Double Touch runs in the ANS Means Business/EBF Stallions Maiden Stakes at Chester and is a horse who just needs to learn to drop his head and relax. He has a great draw in two and could step up on his previous form as this trip will suit him better.

Gabrial The Hero nearly got back up at Musselburgh last time which was a terrific effort. He's out in stall 12 for the Crabbie's Alcoholic Ginger Beer Chester Stakes which doesn't help but he has a chance here on his best form and is in great order right now.

Right Touch is another who's in terrific form at home. He won at the track last time and while he needs to prove he stays seven-and-a-half furlongs I think he will in the British Stallions Studs EBF Handicap.

Gabrial's Kaka runs in the same race but is drawn out in 11. He'll need them to go flat out if he's to win from there but I do just worry this will be sharp enough for him, especially from his draw.

Powerallied is having a good season at Chester, he loves the track there. As a result it's getting tougher for him as the handicapper has his say but has a chance in the sportingbet.com Handicap although again he'd be wider than I'd like in eight.

Gabrial's Star won well at Beverley the other day and went up seven pounds as a result. He seems in good order and I'm hoping he can back up and run very well in the Sportingbet Handicap.

We also saddle Gleese The Devil who has been off the track for 315 days. I'm just worried he may get caught out by rustiness here, rather than a lack of fitness.

Birdcage is another making her seasonal reappearance in the closing Controlled Event Solutions Handicap. She had a setback and I'm a fraction worried she's going to need this, while she'd be high enough in the handicap too off 84.

Our final runner is Showbizzy in the Southgate Bath Handicap. I thought she was a little unlucky at Beverley last time and she remains in good form. She must have a big chance.
