Cheveley worried about soft ground for filly

Connections of Hooray are keeping an eye on the weather ahead of Friday's Adnams Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket. The juvenile carries the colours of the Cheveley Park Stud who have won the race that shares their name twice in recent times with Gay Gallanta in 1994 and Regal Rose in 2000. Sir Mark Prescott's filly has already done them proud, winning the Lowther Stakes and Sirenia Stakes on her last two starts, but further rain would be a concern. "Hooray has been a very progressive filly all through the season and we hope she continues to surprise us," said Chris Richardson, Cheveley Park Stud's managing director. "We are still intending to run, but the forecast is a concern. She's not the same filly on soft ground. "If she were not to run there are other options and I suppose the Rockfel Stakes (at Newmarket on Champions' Day) could be one of those. "From the stud's point of view, I would like to think Hooray will be a Guineas filly and we would have to consider it, but we will have to see how she progresses over the winter. "She's not the most robust filly, so she would need to develop physically to be at that level in May, but we will let Sir Mark and his team figure that out in the spring."

Working well

Godolphin are to run the supplemented Ragsah, who has yet to finish out of the first two in five starts but faces a step up in class. "Ragsah ran a very good race to take second at Ayr and she always tries in her races," trainer Saeed bin Suroor told www.godolphin.com. "She has been working well and looks in good condition. "It's a big step up in class for her but she deserves a chance in a Group One contest and I am hopeful that she can run another nice race." Richard Hannon is looking to pick up some place prize money with Sweet Cecily, who was a close-up fourth to Brevity at Salisbury last time. "They will be fancying both Rimth and Margot Did, and we were right on top of them in the Dick Poole at Salisbury," the trainer told his website. "Sweet Cecily is a decent filly and more than capable of being Group-placed."
