French filly set for second trip to England

Rod Collet's filly Nova Hawk - fourth in both the English and French 1000 Guineas - is set to run in next week's Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot. Collet has outlined the Group One race over a mile as her next assignment and believes that the race will suit his daughter of Hawk Wing. "She is going to run in the Coronation," confirmed the trainer. "She's doing very well and she will probably do a tougher piece of work tomorrow. "She was a little bit unlucky in the two races and I thought the Coronation looked a good race for her as the winner of the French Guineas (Golden Lilac) is going for the French Oaks and some of the best fillies at Newmarket went to the English Oaks. "Perhaps the races over shorter distances will be easier for the taking."

Stable news

One disappointment for Collet is that he will not be represented at the Royal meeting by War Artist. Owner Rupert Plersch, who has already moved the sprinter between James Eustace, Alain de Royer-Dupre and Collet, has switched his stable again. Collet produced him to win a handicap in Dubai before he finished second in the Al Quoz Sprint and entered him in both the King's Stand Stakes and the Golden Jubilee Stakes. "I made the entries for him at Royal Ascot but I don't have him now - he has gone to be trained in Germany," he said. "I believe they are going to make a decision whether to run in the next couple of days."
