Sandown target for Vaughan ace

Tim Vaughan is considering the 32Red Novices' Hurdle at Sandown on January 7 as a potential target for his novice hurdler Jimbill. Registered as the Tolworth Hurdle, the Grade One has emerged as a possible target for the recent Fakenham winner. The five-year-old has only met with defeat once, in a Listed bumper at Cheltenham, and he had no trouble opening his account over timber at the first time of asking. "Taking Jimbill to Fakenham was all about teaching him and I was delighted with how he went about it," said Vaughan. "They went a good, even gallop and we know he needs two and a half to three miles. "We're toying with the idea of running him at Cheltenham on New Year's Day in the Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle. "We might even think of the Tolworth at Sandown. It's never normally a big field for a Grade One and he was quick enough over two miles at Fakenham. Obviously that would be a different grade but it might come under consideration."
