Charlie Mann: Trains Bench Warrent

Charlie Mann is confident of a big run from Welsh National fourth Bench Warrent in Saturday's Betfred Classic Chase at Warwick.

The nine-year-old has some decent form in the book but has gone over two years without a win.

Bench Warrent is 5lb out of the handicap due to the presence of Hey Big Spender at the top of the weights, but Mann's conditional jockey Gavin Sheehan takes off 10lb.

"He did well in the Welsh National and has come out of the race really well," said Mann.

"He's a tough little horse and Gavin, who works for me, gets on really well with him.

"He seems to get him jumping in a nice rhythm, which is very important in races like this.

"He's 5lb well in (at the weights) with Gavin taking 10lb off, so that's handy.

"The trip will obviously suit him, but we could have done with a little bit of rain.

"That might not be a big deal as it should still be dead ground and a slog.

"We're looking forward to it."
