See The Sun (second right), ridden by James Sullivan, wins at York

See The Sun knuckled down admirably to emerge victorious in the Infinity Tyres Stakes at York.

A previous winner over the course and distance and successful on his seasonal reappearance at Doncaster, Tim Easterby's sprinter was a 9/1 shot for his latest assignment.

The five-year-old was smartly away in the hands of James Sullivan and raced towards the front end throughout.

The challengers were queuing up heading inside the last of six furlongs, but See The Sun was not for passing.

Easterby's inmate stuck to his guns to repel Mythmaker and Red Pike by a neck and the same.

The Great Habton handler said: "Last year we couldn't get him right but we just freshened him up.

"He's a lovely little horse. I haven't got one (a plan) but he likes this track so we'll look at the good-money handicaps."

Sullivan said: "He's a nice horse this year and won well at Doncaster the last day.

"He was always doing enough."

Bryan Smart saddled the second and third and was delighted with the performances of both horses.

He said: "We fancied Mythmaker to run well. He unseated his rider on the all-weather last time, so he's got form figures like a jumps horse!

"After a run like that, he could go to Royal Ascot for the Wokingham.

"Red Pike went to Pontefract first time out and the ground was so deep - he hated it.

"I said to Sir Alex (Ferguson, part-owner) we may as well run and see where he's at and he's run a blinder."
