Persuasive: Superb again at Sandown

Persuasive looks ready for a crack at the top level after easily winning the Group Three Atalanta Fillies' Stakes at Sandown.

John Gosden's Cheveley Park-owned three-year-old took her unbeaten tally to five after a convincing success in the hands of Robert Havlin.

Settled in the rear early on, Persuasive cut her way through the pack effortlessly and won going away by three lengths to justify a starting price of 6/4 favourite.

Blond Me (9/1) was second with Lucy The Painter (20/1) third.

Cheveley Park's managing director Chris Richardson said: "She was very impressive and has done very well since Royal Ascot.

"We're very happy with her and she's a filly that looks very progressive. I'm hoping she will step up eventually to Group One level.

"We'll have to see how we get on, but we will be considering races like the Sun Chariot and the Matron.

"Whether we go straight up to Group One I'm not sure. The way she did it today you'd be tempted."

Gosden was at York, where he said: "She did it very nicely. We'd freshened her up since Ascot and it worked.

"She's a talented, progressive filly but there's no decision on where she goes next. She is well entered up, though."
