Hollow Tree leads Countrywide Flame over the last before going on to win the Finale

Hollow Tree was a game winner of the Future Champions Finale Juvenile Hurdle at Chepstow.

The 13-8 favourite lead from the third last but for much of the home straight it seemed as though Countrywide Flame (2-1) was travelling better.

However Timmy Murphy had plenty of horse under him and Donald McCain's charge proved a very willing partner, continually applying the pressure.

The runner-up finally cracked after the last with Hollow Tree going on to score by two-and-a-half lengths.

Alan King's Secret Edge (7-2) was a further 11 lengths away in third.

Murphy said: "That was tough for a four-year-old - he never gives up. He tries too hard some times, but you need that in a horse in that ground."

Mark Dennis, one of Hollow Tree's owners, added; "Timmy thinks that if it's soft at Cheltenham he's definitely a Triumph Hurdle horse.

"He can handle good ground, but he does seem very effective when it's soft."
