My Tent Or Yours: Easy winner

My Tent Or Yours (4/11 favourite) strolled to a facile win in the Rose Appeal Supports Alder Hey Top Novices' Hurdle, the opening race on day two of the Aintree Grand National Meeting.

Nicky Henderson's six-year-old was beaten into second by Champagne Fever in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham but he got back on the winning trail without fuss.

Brick Red took up the running to ensure there wasn't a farcical pace and My Tent Or Yours settled well in third under AP McCoy, behind stablemate Forgotten Voice.

As Zuider Zee made mistakes at the back of the field, My Tent Or Yours loomed alongside Brick Red turning into the straight and coasted clear on the bridle for a 16-length success.

Forgotten Voice (9/2) finished second despite a mistake at the last.

Sky Bet cut My Tent Or Yours to 6/1 from 7/1 for next year's Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.

McCoy said: "He didn't jump as well today, but it's the end of the season. I wanted to make sure he didn't fall over. He was a long odds-shot so I wanted to get him round.

"Jumping fences might be his job, we'll see. What I liked about him was his size and scope, despite his Flat pedigree.

"People picked holes in him because he got beat at Cheltenham but I've got beat on a few good ones there. He might go back and redeem himself next year."

Henderson said: "When you've had a hard race at Cheltenham it's nice to just come back and get confidence and go to bed for the summer happy and relieved. We know he's good.

"I don't think he had to show anybody that, even though he did get beat at Cheltenham. It's nice to finish on that note. That will do for now.

"He's got to be in the 'contenders' bracket for next year's Champion Hurdle. We'll see what everyone wants to do."
