Verdict

A Group 1 winner last year, WALDGEIST (NAP) has run well so far this season without scoring. He went close in the French Derby before finishing fourth to Capri in the Irish equivalent and Andre Fabre’s colt is the one to beat in this. Secret Number looks next best on his placed effort in the Arc Trial at Newbury last month and is preferred to the frustrating Midterm, who won a conditions race at Epsom before disappointing at Kempton. Great Hall has been in fine form in handicaps but the remainder will do well to get involved.
