Verdict

Strawberry Jack had been running well all year and deserved his maiden victory in a Yarmouth handicap and though a 7lb rise looks harsh his young rider's claim takes care of the extra. Beryl The Petal is extremely consistent at this level but has now been beaten in her last four starts off lower marks. The lightly-raced Clem A returned from a break with a good run for new connections at Windsor while RICH APPROACH, whose two victories have been on Tapeta, caught the eye at Thirsk last time and with this stiffer test likely to suit gets the vote .
