Verdict

Class 6 fare which would probably produce six different results for every six runnings. ETIENNE GERARD was never able to get competitive when sent off favourite at Hamilton earlier the month but still finished a respectable fourth, prior to which he'd obliged here under today's pilot with a strong late surge. He's taken to repeat the feat in the hope that gaps appear for his usual late run. Arnold has shaped well enough on two of three starts this term and is actually down 1lb after a sound Wetherby run latest. Pearl Noir will no doubt adopt usual trailblazing tactics and has a sound chance if Theodore Ladd can get him to the rail quickly and establish an early advantage. Donny Belle and Groundworker are also interesting in a tricky contest.
