Verdict
CLEAR ICE returns to this track for the first time since landing a double here in August. He's been denied his preferred front-running role in four subsequent starts, but looks likely to grab the lead today and can return to winning ways if doing so. Billy Red won over C&D last year and a recent second at Lingfield suggests he'll be winning soon, while Commandingpresence finished just in front of third-placed Athwaab at Salisbury last month and they can both figure. Magical Speedfit won this in 2009 and should be thereabouts once again.
