    Verdict

Axel Jacklin has every chance on an earlier second at Newmarket but has disappointed the last twice now. STEEVE was also well beaten at Newbury last time but in a tough conditions race and Rod Millman’s colt had won at Salisbury before that. He gets another chance back at this level. Balata Bay is helped out by an apprentice’s allowance after a modest debut effort at Wolverhampton and is preferred to Triple One but the newcomers make little appeal.
