In depth

Verdict

Mantell alternates between hurdles and fences and ran well over the bigger obstacles here last week. He's 5lb higher than when gaining his only success over timber but still looks fairly treated. Tawrific Laois showed signs of returning to form at Downpatrick at the beginning of the month and should be considered but Epic Hero has yet to prove he stays this far and is overlooked despite a good run behind Cantrell at Naas. Winning point-to-pointer BURNFORT GIRL ran well when runner-up to Mountain Heather over the C&D in December and was in touch for a long way on her return from a break at Thurles last week. She's still capable of making progress and can gain her first success over timber here. Saddler's Best has a long absence to overcome but has strong enough form over timber to get involved if fit enough.
