In depth

Verdict

Having chased Harzand home at Epsom and the Curragh, Idaho sets the standard for the year’s final Classic following his win in the Great Voltigeur. But there are lingering doubts over his suitability for the distance, especially if the forecast rain materialises. It’s hard to see Housesofparliament overturning that York form with his stablemate but MUNTAHAA looks a bigger danger. He only scrambled home in a Listed event at Chester last time but has bags of potential and will relish the trip – his trainer has been bullish about his chances this week. The stamina-laden Sword Fighter looks a solid each way prospect as he appears to hold Harbour Law on Queen’s Vase form.
