Confident Kid has never won but almost did so on Friday when just failing to concede 4lb to Rag Tatter over 6f. Mercury and The Bittern Cry occupied the places in the other division of the same contest but were beaten a long way behind Billyfairplay. Dance Alone doesn't win all that often but has done better since dropping down to this trip in his last two starts while Danz Gift has won five times on the track, the last time from a 4lb higher mark. SNOW PATCH ended her first campaign with a victory here a year ago. She showed good pace in most starts on Turf during the summer and is now on her lowest ever mark so gets the vote. Ar Saoirse is still a maiden but very nearly made all over the track and trip last month when Gala N Dandy was just behind.
