    Verdict

Despite racing on the unfavourable far side, Walhaan finished ahead of King Carney in the Cambridgeshire and should confirm the form. Overwrite is hard to predict and still 5lb higher than for his last win but Dashing Roger arrives in good form. However, it would be no surprise to see this develop into a straight fight between Ascension and HARTSWOOD. The former was foiled in his hat-trick bid here last time off this mark and steps up a furlong so the latter gets the vote as he’s been in cracking form at York over the summer and may have benefited from a break.
