Verdict

A potentially-informative maiden and, with the benefit of experience, Wolverhampton second Platinum Star is likely to start favourite even though stablemate Big City, an 80,000gns purchase, wears Godolphin’s first colours. Haafel wears the same colours as last year’s winner and Charlie Hills’ yard is riding a crest of a wave at the moment. Michael Bell’s yard is also in top form and he had a four-timer here last week and introduced a smart juvenile at Yarmouth recently. OTAGO is out of a dam that has produced winners with all seven of her offspring to race and he could be useful. Sky Commander and Javea Magic are also worth a market check.
