Verdict

Jim Bolger has won four of the last six including the latest two. His recent acquisition Ancient Spirit is very interesting having twice won at Group 2 level in Germany before sent to race in Australia over the winter where he finished last in both starts. Pincheck won a Group 3 here in August and returned after a long break to be narrowly beaten in Listed company at the Curragh. He should get into the frame though the three-year-olds could hold the key to this. Mohawk won the Royal Lodge last season and reappeared with a narrow defeat behind stable companion Circus Maximus in the Dee Stakes. He's been outclassed in Group 1 company subsequently and was behind CAPE OF GOOD HOPE in the French Derby so it's the latter, who last ran in the Belmont Derby, who can come out on top again.
