Verdict
Maestro Royal couldn’t handle the step up to handicap company at Ascot and there are stamina doubts over this much longer trip. Gonalston Cloud stays much further and likes it here. He’s still well treated on his best efforts but Work Du Breteau and Return Flight have not been in the best of form lately while Shady Glen has an absence to overcome. Silver Tassie has been getting closer, however, and PICKAMIX was knocking on the door in the autumn. Successful here in a bumper and twice over hurdles, including on this card 12 months ago, there was a lot to like about his comeback run in a hot handicap at Ayr and this looks a good opportunity for Charlie Mann’s grey to open his account over fences.
