In depth

Verdict

The veteran HEAVY METAL has been a top-class performer around here since 2015 and won this on his reappearance two years ago. He won the Godolphin Mile last year then just failed to follow up in the same Group 2 event in March and is better than these if ready after his break. Thegreatcollection is rated 9lb behind him though does have the advantage of a recent run which should have brought him on a bundle. Kimbear was 7l behind the selection in last year's Godolphin Mile but performed with credit in Group company throughout last winter. The three-year-old Manguzi ran a fine race when beaten a length in the UAE Derby in March and is much better than he showed on his recent reappearance while Yulong Warrior, a Listed winner here last year, is on the comeback trail after a two poor runs in the USA a year ago though he did win a minor stakes race there earlier.
